Zarqa is a Jordanian city and is about 20 km away from Amman. Zarqa is Jordan's third largest city with a population of about 572,290 in 2013, and Zarqa is Jordan's industrial capital. There are many sites to visit in Zarqa, including the Wildlife Reserve, the Aquatic Life Reserve, and many mansions.
Zarqa is named after the Zarqa River, the third largest waterway in the southern Levant after the Jordan River and the Yarmouk River.
Zarqa emerged during the Umayyad period because of its location on the road of the Hajj convoys it was passing to Hijaz. The Martian people of Makkah with their commercial convoys on the summer trip in Al-Sham named the Blue Masbah for the many beasts in its forests such as the Shab, hyenas, and cheetahs. Bani Umayya cared about Zarqa in the context of their interest in Jordan near the capital of their caliphate, Damascus. They set up palaces and castles in Jordan's Badia, where they dropped them off on winter and spring fishing days and equestrian matches. It was one of the most famous Umayyad palaces in Zarqa, Alhalabat Palace, Umrah Palace, Surf Bath Palace, and Tuberculosis Ain Palace.
